Closing out Deutsche Oper Berlin's four year cycle of Meyerbeer operas is Le prophète, a tale of love and familial duty set against the backdrop of religious strife during the Reformation. Enrique Mazzola returns to familiar territory in Berlin, having conducted two of the previous outings in this cycle, Dinorah and Vasco da Gama. French director Olivier Py will mount the grand production, featuring Gregory Kunde as Jean de Leyden, Clémentine Margaine as Fidès, Elena Tsallagova as Berthe, and Mr. Carico as Oberthal.
