Johann Sebastian Bach's cantata "Ich habe genug" is a provocative statement about man's relationship with his own death. A nameless person sings in cheerful conviction, "I look forward to my death." How can we deal with this seemingly outrageous attitude towards the subject? The hope for a better life after death eases the pain. Frauke Meyer directs this staged version of the cantata, addressing these bold questions and presents a world premiere from Cologne composer Martin Bechler alongside Bach's masterpiece. The musical director and oboe soloist will be Xenia Löffler.
